After an electrical storm, my Magic Jack Plus quit working with my
router. It only worked in USB mode. I changed firewall settings,
ethernet cables and finally changed the power supply. The Magic Jack
power adapter works at 1 amp. I have a 2 amp adapter that works fine
with it.
Same thing happened to mine. Just stopped working no power outage just died. Thankfully had an 1 amp HTC wall charger and its back up and working fine. Thanks so much for the video!
ReplyDeleteThe majic jack power supplies are junk. I'm on my 4th one now. This time I went with an HTC power supply for less than $5 from amazon with shipping free. No problems since I replaced it. I was tired of OEM replacements burning out after 6 months. It's been over a year now and no problems.
ReplyDeleteJust make sure it's rated at 5 volts and 1 amp, and you'll be happier than the crappy OEM chargers.
Same thing happened to me about 3 times in the last 5 years. The original magic jack power supply is a junk and the magic jack customer service has to pay attention to this serious problem otherwise they're actually hurting their business by ignoring it.
ReplyDeleteI use now (since over a year) a HyCell USB small charger from the type used for charging apple, Samsung, HTC, Nokia, LG and other USB devices and every thing seems to be fine. So I'm using simply a USB charger, just make sure you use one with an Output 5.0 Volt and exactly ONE Amper (1000 mA).
