After an electrical storm, my Magic Jack Plus quit working with my
router. It only worked in USB mode. I changed firewall settings,
ethernet cables and finally changed the power supply. The Magic Jack
power adapter works at 1 amp. I have a 2 amp adapter that works fine
with it.

Problem: Broken USB power adapter. Cost $9 from ebay (probably more from manufacturer).
Fix: Purchased generic ipod/iphone usb wall charger for $3 from ebay (or buy from any reputable store).

Volume fix for magicJack plus
A number of magicJack plus users are finding it difficult to hear others
on their phone. Likewise, others have trouble hearing them. -------- Here’s a fix that should work for most users.-----

Update 2013-11-08: Originally, I thought this volume fix worked. After hearing back from Kher and Bill (commenters below), I performed multiple tests on both the magicJack 2012 and 2014, I find that settings revert back to what seem to be fixed settings for the telephone volume controls when plugged into the router. There is no way to adjust volume settings while the device is connected directly to the router. This is a real problem that magicJack needs to address. There needs to be a way to directly change volume settings while connected to the router. The only way this is likely to happen is if the device hosts a device web interface. Hopefully it will be addressed in some future version of the software.

power adapter for magic jack plus not working
My magick jack plus suddenly stopped working. It
did not have a dial tone. I plugged and unplugged the unit, also the
router, etc. and nothing worked. I took it off the ac power adapter and
plugged it directly on the computer and the power light came on and it
works that way. But what is the story with the power adapter? Where can
a new power adapter be purchased? Does anyone else have this problem?
MagicJack Plus FIXED
I wasn't getting a solid blue light on my unit. Also, the ethernet's jack wasn't showing green either. I switched out the adapter and replaced it with my ipad adapter. It worked! I didn't use a multimeter to take the reading but you can if you want to determine if that is indeed the issue or not.
