power adapter for magic jack plus not working

My magick jack plus suddenly stopped working. It did not have a dial tone. I plugged and unplugged the unit, also the router, etc. and nothing worked. I took it off the ac power adapter and plugged it directly on the computer and the power light came on and it works that way. But what is the story with the power adapter? Where can a new power adapter be purchased? Does anyone else have this problem?

    The majic jack power supplies are junk. I'm on my 4th one now. This time I went with an HTC power supply for less than $5 from amazon with shipping free. No problems since I replaced it. I was tired of OEM replacements burning out after 6 months. It's been over a year now and no problems.

    Just make sure it's rated at 5 volts and 1 amp, and you'll be happier than the crappy OEM chargers.

      Just went through the same thing. Without a phone for 2 weeks. Troubleshooting this every couple of days. Once I figured out no power I changed adapters to a Dynex one I had and phone is up and running. Found it funny that MJ wanted $5 for a replacement when it's their equipment that failed.

    There are several HTC power supplies shown on Amazon. Do you have a model number or better description - - - or does it not matter as long as it is 5V and 1 Amp???
